I have always been a story teller. It doesn't matter the medium, I just have a passion to tell stories that captivate, entertain, and inspire. This passion has lead me through many different hobbies, careers, and opportunities.
From film making, to tabletop roleplaying games, to children's books, I believe in spreading positivity through entertainment. No matter what story I'm telling, you can be sure there will be kindness, wonder, and wholesome messages throughout.
I was 10 years old when my grandmother took me to see this little movie called "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring". I had no idea that when I went into that cool, dark movie theater, away from the world, that I would come out a new person. Fully inspired in a way I could not contain within myself. I needed to do what that movie did. I needed to be a filmmaker.
It started simple. Grabbed my friends and my mini-DV camera and started making silly little films. Quickly from there, I became the president of the Cinematography Club at school for multiple years, and then decided to go to film school. Graduating with the highest honors and an award winning film, I began to work in the Vancouver film industry, soon making my way to Los Angeles and working through many different positions in the industry. Then, I moved from behind the camera to in front of it. I had a career as stunt woman and actress for many years, which shaped all that happened next...
When I started my adventure into TTRPG (Table Top Role Play Games) entertainment, I didn't know just how far it would take me. I was extremely blessed to start on the very popular show Heroes of the Vale where I introduced my character Penelope Half-Pint for the very first time. 5 years later I had played Penelope in dozens of games, taking her on adventure after adventure. She even became a playable character in the video game Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realm. She was a fan favorite everywhere she went, and I enjoyed playing her so much.
It was during this time that some one approached me saying, "You know, Penelope would make a great children's book character." And something clicked in my mind. YES! She would! I would love to write her story for children. Thus another medium of story telling in my life was born.
I have always been a fan of family friendly content. All my favorite movies are, all the films I make are, even when I worked in the film industry I was working for companies such as Nickelodeon and Disney. So when it clicked in my mind that I could make children's books, well, it just went together like peanut butter and jelly.
I began writing, and writing, and it all flowed so easily as though I had, had these stories in me forever. Now I have books lined up for years to come, all stories full of wonder, kindness, and life lessons great for growing minds. Getting to write children's books is so fulfilling, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to do it and share my books with the world.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for all your support.
